“Christmas Wreath”


Block Size -- 9" x 9" finished (9½" x 9½" with seam allowance)

December 2006 Block of the Month -- Christmas Wreath  
  Fabric: Cut Directions:
Wreath Green print (2) -- 3 ½" squares
Wreath Green print (2) -- 3 7/8" squares
Cut squares in half diagonally
Wreath Green print (1) -- 4 ¼" squares
Cut squares in quarters diagonally
(You will only need 2 of these triangles
for the bow section)
Bow Red print (1) -- 4 ¼" squares
Cut squares in quarters diagonally
(You will only need 2 of these triangles
for the bow section)
Background Off-white muslin or print (1) -- 3 ½" square
Background Off-white muslin or print (2) -- 3 7/8" squares
Cut squares in half diagonally

Step 1. Sew the green and white 3 7/8” triangles together.
Step 2. Sew the green and red triangles together to form the bow section.
Step 3. Arrange the units into the wreath pattern and sew together to form the block.

Keep in mind:
Use 100% cotton fabrics for the block.
Wash the fabrics before cutting the quilt pattern. Do not use fabrics that bleed or run.
Stitch all seams ¼".
Press seams toward the dark fabric unless the pattern dictates otherwise.
