December 2007 Block of the Month -- Glowing Star
Diagram: Fabric: Cutting Directions:
Background Dark blue (think “starry night”) (4) 3½" squares
(1) 4¼" square, cut in half diagonally twice
Center square and star points Yellow or gold (1) 3½" square
(2) 4¼" squares, cut in half diagonally twice
Inner triangles Gold or yellow (to contrast with rest of star) (1) 4¼" square, cut in half diagonally twice

Assembly Instructions:
  1. Pair background triangles with four of the star point triangles and pair inner triangles with remaining four start point triangles. Seam together on short sides, making sure that star point triangles are always in the same position in the finished unit. Press seams toward the star point triangles.
  2. Pair a star point/inner triangle unit with a star point/background triangle unit; seam along long sides. Repeat with 3 remaining pairs. You should now have four 3½"-square units.
  3. Assemble squares and triangle units according to the above diagram. May you have a stellar holiday season!!
