“Valentine Heart”


Block Size -- 6" x 6" finished (6½" x 6½" with seam allowance)

February, 2007 Block of the Month -- Valentine Heart   Cut a 6 ½" square of white muslin or white on white fabric.

Prepare a heart template, or make your own template for a 3 ½" to 4" heart.
Trace heart pattern.
Use red or pink print or batik.
Appliqué using a bonding product.
Embellish in any way.
Make several!

Keep in mind:
Use 100% cotton fabrics for the block.
Wash the fabrics before cutting the quilt pattern. Do not use fabrics that bleed or run.
Stitch all seams ¼".
Press seams toward the dark fabric unless the pattern dictates otherwise.
