2009 BVQ Challenge

Chairperson Barbara Gross challenged us to use our choice of fabrics to make a quilted piece exploring the theme of “Root, Roots, Routes”. Think: Root (as in tree or root through stash or family item), Roots (as in family history or country of origin), or Routes (as in favorite roads or ways of getting somewhere). Entries were to measure 96" to 120" in perimeter (24" to 30" on a side), and could be square, rectangular, round, or any other shape, with the title visible on the front of the piece. The object was to have fun and try to work a little outside our comfort level!

Ten Challenge entries were displayed at the August 2009 Guild meeting when members voted for their favorite. We hope to see these entries again at our 2010 quilt show!
